New material properties by in-situ formed metal-ceramic phases

We focus on titanium and aluminium alloy-based, light-weight material systems and composites.
With this we achieve higher stiffness and improve other properties, e.g. by introducing nano composites or metal-ceramic reinforcements into the matrix. This is also leading to more lasting surfaces or increased hardness.
Additional materials like various kinds of steel or CTE-matched alloys like Invar add to our list of investigated systems.
